I wanted to put a little PS to my string of bad luck lately. I've shared with you the story of my truck on "The Curse Returns." To review, over the weekend my iPod was taken from my truck while I was at South Florida Festival. I was assuming I left my truck unlocked and someone opened my truck to take it.
Not so, they pried open my driver side door by shoving a screwdriver into the lock and wedging the door open. It's been so chaotic, I didn't even notice until today the extensiveness. The lock is gutted out and the handle was almost pulled off the door. I put the truck back in the shop and the customer service lady laughed at me, commenting how I hadn't removed my key from the shop's keyring yet (it still had the tag on it from when my tires were stolen). I have an appointment to install a heavy-duty car alarm that will likely go off when a catepillar crawls past my truck.
I've gotten a lot of feedback on bad luck... I got an e-mail from a mentor and friend, who advised me the following:
Regarding the string of bad luck. We don’t believe in luck. If you don’t like that notion, try this one…There is a theory in theology that suggests that Satan is finite, his power is finite, and his minions are finite. Therefore, the amount of evil, bad luck, chaos, etc in the world is finite. When you are receiving more than your normal allotment, then you are freeing up someone else and making it possible for them to have some really good days. Perhaps you should locate some of these people and ask them to say thanks.
So, if you've had some good luck lately, share it with me! If you don't agree with the theology, let me know too! Nothing like a good/evil debate...
